BlackBerry Bold 9780 headed to T-Mobile by Christmas

UPDATE: Vodafone’s website appears to have a holding page for the BlackBerry Bold 9780 too. Looks like a launch is imminent!

UPDATE 2: We’ve just tried to find out more, but a RIM spokesperson has declined to comment.

Exclusive: The BlackBerry Bold 9780 we’ve seen pop up in leaked videos is real, very real. We can reveal that it’s headed to T-Mobile in the UK before Christmas, and we’ve got the price and details right here.

The BlackBerry Bold 9780 hasn’t exactly been a well kept secret (See the spyshot from Vietnam above) but T-Mobile has just jumped the gun on RIM and confirmed its existence and UK destination to us. It’ll be on sale here by Christmas, free on £30 per month contracts. As expected, it’ll run BlackBerry 6 out of the box, and packs a five megapixel camera – upgraded from the 3.2MP sensor on the very similar, year old BlackBerry Bold 9700. That portrait QWERTY keyboard looks untouched, and that’s quite alright by us.

T-Mobile has yet to list the BlackBerry Bold 9780 on its website. We can’t confirm, but this would seem to suggest the other reported specs, like increased RAM, are also accurate. We’ve contacted RIM UK for comment, and will update when we hear back.
