Could iTunes streaming could be one of those wildcard inclusions at tomorrow’s Apple event? Reports last week suggested Apple has yet to ink the necessary deals with labels to create an iTunes cloud service and is going to make iTunes social first. But a newly uncovered survey hints at iTunes video streaming plans. Let’s take a look at the evidence…
An iTunes customer survey kicked out by Apple earlier this week seems to offer a glimmer of hope about a future streaming service. Asking about what makes iPad video so appealing, Apple lists “Titles are available to watch instantly” as a reason.
But, we hear you cry, iTunes videos aren’t instantly available to watch on the iPad right now. You have to wait for the entire video to download before you can watch it and the current Apple TV is pretty buffer happy too.
There’s every chance that Apple has simply made an error in the iTunes survey but it could also indicate that the long-awaited iTunes video streaming service is coming soon. Adding that feature would go hand-in-hand with the rumoured iOS Apple TV.
We’ll be at the Apple event tomorrow to bring you all the news as it happens. We’re definitely expecting to see a new iPod touch break cover but have our fingers-crossed that we’ll get some surprises too.
Let us know what you make of the iTunes survey. Are you dreaming of iTunes video streaming?
