Sky+ subscribers with an Android phone in their pocket can finally record shows on the go. The Sky+ Remote Record app which landed on iPhone last year has migrated to the Android Marketplace. The nifty little app lets you set recordings on your Sky+ box wherever you are. Head through for details on how to control your gogglebox from your Google blower…
The Sky+ Remote Record app joins the Sky News Android app in the Murdoch Empire’s Google friendly app arsenal. To use it to stash shows on your Sky+ or Sky+ HD box, you first need to register for a My Sky account at Sky.com. Once you’ve done that and set up Remote Record on your box at home, you’re good to go.
The Sky+ Remote Record Android app gives you access to the full seven-day EPG and you can browse the programmes on offer by time, date or name. Then it’s a simple press to select single shows or series link to grab an entire run of episodes.
There are a couple of slight catches: you need to set a show recording via the Sky+ Remote Record Android app at least 30 minutes before it starts and once it’s going you can’t delete the request from your phone. As long as you don’t get your timezones confused or record something embarrassing, you should be fine.
The Sky+ Remote Record app is in the Android Market now for the pocket-pleasing price of absolutely free. If you’re a Sky+ subscriber, go and grab it now and let us know what you think.
