It seems that the Motorola Droid 2 is on the way. The first pic (suitably blurry) of what appears to be the Droid’s successor has been spotted online – and it seems to be a different smartphone to the Motorola Droid Shadow first outed a few weeks back.
The spy shot shows a touchscreen mobile bearing a Motorola logo and Android activation screen with “A955” – purportedly the product codename for the Motorola Droid 2.
And while the blurriness of the photo makes it a little hard to be sure, the device doesn’t appear to be the same as the Motorola Droid Shadow, the upcoming Motorola Android phone leaked all over the web after it was reportedly left lying around in US network Verizon’s corporate gym.
This new handset doesn’t have the same shape as the Droid Shadow, or the row of physical buttons underneath the screen. That suggests it may indeed by the Motorola Droid 2.
Still, the blurriness and general lack of info is keeping us a little dubious. We’ll keep an eye peeled for more Motorola Droid 2 stuff in the coming weeks.
