The Dell Streak has been priced by the Carphone Warehouse and if you’re planning on picking the tasty Android tablet on contract, you’ll be able to nab it for nowt. But if you were hoping to plump for the Dell Streak unlocked, it’ll set you back as much as an iPad. Read on for full details on the first Dell Streak deals…
We knew the Dell Streak release date on O2 is set for June 4 but now the Carphone Warehouse has got out its pricing gun and slapped a figure on the much-fancied Android slate. Opt for a £25 a month contract with mobile broadband or a £35 a month contract with voice and unlimited data and it can be yours for free.
But the 5in Android 1.6 tablet (which is set for an over-the-air update to Android 2.2 Froyo) will set you back £429 if you want to buy it outright. That’s exactly the same price as a 16GB iPad Wi-Fi.
While the iPad comes packing a 9.7in screen, the Dell Streak definitely has its charms with a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, a VGA front-facing camera and a 5MP autofocus camera with dual LED flash.
Let us know whether the Dell Streak price looks like a good deal to you. Are you enamoured with the Android tablet? Or are you waiting for another slate to catch your eye?
