ViewSonic PJD6531w 3D projector outed

The ViewSonic PJD6531w 3D ready projector could be just what you need to future proof yourself for the third dimension. Unlike all those upcoming 3D tellies with monster pricetags, the machine costs well under a grand, and it’s out this month.

The ViewSonic PJD6531w will happily pump out anything you slot into its HDMI socket onto a wall, and is capable of a 3,000 lumens brightness. The big USP though is that the ViewSonic PJD6531w is 3D-ready thanks to its chipset inside and 120Hz refresh rate, and a future firmware update should activate that 3D goodness, expected to roll out this year by way of 3D Blu-ray discs and Sky‘s 3D channel.

There’s a drawback to the ViewSonic PJD6531w, mind. The WXGA resolution on the ViewSonic PJD6531w means it can only pump out 720p HD movies rather than the full 1920x1080p experience most new flatscreens offer. But hey, for £649.99, we’re not complaining. If you’ve already got a PS3, it’s one of the cheapest ways to enjoy 3D we’ve seen yet.
