iPad rivals are starting to look a little thin on the ground from Microsoft with rumours that the HP Slate won’t be packing Windows and the Microsoft Courier canned. But Bill Gates has come out swinging with stylus in hand to reassure us that there’s plenty of Microsoft tablets planned…
Popping up on Fox Business alongside uber-wealthy investor Warren Buffet, Bill Gates had reassuring words for folk awaiting Microsoft tablets to step up as compelling iPad rivals:
“Microsoft has a lot of different tablet projects we’re pursuing. We think that work with the pen that Microsoft pioneered will become a mainstream for students. It can give you a device that you can not only read but also create documents at the same time.”
The pen and touch user Microsoft Courier interface we saw when it was first wafted before our eyes could well reemerge in future Microsoft tablets. We’re sure to see a stylus involved somehow with Gates as firm on his belief in its importance as he was when he talked about the iPad a while back. Perhaps someone should give him an iPad with the Pogo stylus we recommended in our iPad accessories feature.
Does Microsoft need to offer up some iPad rivals? Or would you prefer to go wild and grab an Asus Eee Pad instead?
