Palm pre update fixes iTunes sync

Just a week after Apple outed iTunes 8.2.1, with its lofty claim to “disable devices falsely pretending to be iPods, including the Palm Pre,” Palm has shot back. A new update for the Palm Pre puts iTunes syncing back on the menu and signals open, all–out warfare between the rival camps. Keep reading to see just how Palm’s squaring up to Apple.

The Palm Pre has hooked up with iTunes, after a week–long spat saw the star–crossed tech lovers split thanks to Apple’s latest update. Palm webOS 1.1 issues stacks of fixes for the iPhone–rival, but will grab headlines as it ,”resolves an issue preventing media sync from working with latest version of iTunes (8.2.1).”

It was only a matter of time. Palm met last week’s iTunes challenge by saying knocking out syncing with the Palm Pre was “a direct blow to their users.” The question now is, when will Apple fire back with an update of their own.

The Palm Pre has got some neat new additions thanks to webOS 1.1. Microsoft Exchange support is live and tweaked gesture controls are on board too. But this is all about the battle with Apple. Can Palm see off their threat? One thing’s for sure, this has only just got started.
